Someone wore away part of the finish on the handle with their unrelenting shearing. And the blade is perfect. A testament to good craftsmanship.
H.K. Porter is another one of those old companies now owned by the Apex Tool Group. They’re mostly known for their bolt cutters now, I guess, but started out making locomotives, from 1866-1950. Weird jump, that, locomotives to hand tools. They bought Disston in the 50’s, which probably helped with that transition.
