E.C. Stearns started as the George N. Stearns Company in 1864, and was renamed in 1877 when George’s son Edward Carl took over.

E.C. Stearns tools are especially nice, I think. I see their clamps and sawsets fairly frequently, but not too many other things. This cabinet scraper is not especially amazing, but it’s quite nice.
